In the United States, lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths, with 23% of all cancer diagnoses attributed to this disease. Shockingly, an estimated 236,740 Americans will be diagnosed with lung cancer, and 130,180 will lose their lives to it in 2022 alone.
At UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, our Section Chief of General Thoracic Surgery, David M. Jablons, MD, leads the Thoracic Surgery & Oncology Tumor Board. This program is accredited by the ACCME and aims to educate practicing physicians and nurses in thoracic oncology, pulmonology, radiation oncology, pathology, and surgery on evidence-based best practices for managing patients with lung malignancies. By adhering to these guidelines, we hope to prolong disease-free progression, overall survival rates, and improve our patients' quality of life.
The intended audience includes UCSF practicing physicians and nurses in the areas of thoracic oncology, pulmonology, radiation oncology, pathology, and surgey.
UCSF designates this activity for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM*.
